Research Activities

I conduct research in a variety of areas from theoretical Cogntive Radios studies to physical implementations, but my main research activity has centred on two topics:

  • One major line of research deals with spectrum sensing methods for Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA). In particular, this research focuses on the non-cooperative spectrum sensing techniques that can achieve a good trade-off between latency, reliability and computational complexity.
  • A second line of research deals with green communication. Communication can be used to reduce environmental pollution by:
    • Less Radiation : e.g. Beamforming techniques;
    • Less Power Consumption : e.g. Low power consumption electronics techniques , Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction techniques;
    • Enabling Technology for Less Power Consumption in Other Systems
